The second refinement of Xrd, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, added a couple of new characters, additional Story elements and rebalanced the entire roster, making for a more refined version of an already brilliant experience that should tide you over until Guilty Gear Strive, scheduled to launch in 2021 for PC, PS4 and PS5. The beautiful visuals, the fantastic gameplay and the awesome rock soundtrack combined to create a new kind of fighting game magic.

Ecole Software and French-Bread’s Under Night In-Birth has been around in some form or another since 2012, combining excellent 2D fighting game mechanics with a visual novel to really appeal to all kinds of anime fans. We’ve now reached that part of the list where all the entries have viable reasons to be number 1, but they can’t all be winners.
